RIVER ROAD FARM EXTRACTIVE USE OPERATION

The River Road Farm Extractive Use Operation (EUO) has been in operation for more than 20 years.  The EUO covers approximately 400 acres and consists of a commercial extraction operation and a sand and gravel washing operation. Duffield Associates, Inc. has provided services to the owner for more than 20 years.  These services included initial site geologic and hydrogeologic evaluations to determine site feasibility and quality and quantity of material that involved soil boring exploration and logging, soil sieve analysis, well installation and water quality sampling and analysis and all site engineering required for rezoning and initial EUO Licensing.  Operations services included all site permitting for expansions including EUO License renewals, Delaware River Basin Commission Allocation Permits, Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control Coastal Zone and Water Supply Permits, site engineering services; and operations monitoring that included installation of additional groundwater monitoring wells, quarterly sampling and analysis of groundwater, and semi-annual reporting of groundwater level and quality conditions including piezometric surface mapping of groundwater levels and flow gradients of the water table in the geologic formations beneath the site
