LOGISTICENTER WAREHOUSE COMPLEX
CARLISLE, PA
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Duffield Associates was retained to perform geotechnical engineering consulting services and construction review and testing for the development of a 250-acre LogistiCenter at a Carlisle campus.  This warehouse complex consists of five buildings, constructed during a period of six years, ranging in size from 238,000 – potentially 1,000,000+ square feet, totaling 3,500,000 square feet.

Initial services revolved around pre-construction test borings, infiltration testing and design basis geotechnical reports for each structure positioned over karst limestone terrain.

Onsite construction review services included observation and testing of all earthwork operations covering structural fill, rock fill, subbase placement, utility installations and storm water management features.  Foundation subgrade reviews were completed along with review of rebar, structural steel, asphalt and concrete pavements, and all foundation, floor and tiltup concrete testing for each expansive building project.  Additional services included floor flatness testing, numerous sinkhole remediations, retaining wall consultations, and continuous engineering support in problem solving, as various issues arose during construction.
