ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTING SERVICES PROVIDED TO FORTUNE 100 CLIENT DE, FL, ME, MD, NJ, OH, and TX
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Duffield Associates provided approximately $10 million worth of broad-based environmental consulting services to a financial corporation over a 10 year period. This client's typical approach was to restore economic vitality into developed urban centers, which yielded a challenging array of environmental issues for Duffield Associates. Our services provided have included:

  • Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments,
  • Ecological assessments,
  • Underground storage tank removals and assessments,
  • Hydrogeological assessments,
  • Brownfield programs applications and regulatory agency liaison,
  • Asbestos surveys,
  • Asbestos abatement design,
  • Geotechnical investigation, analysis and design,
  • PCB clean-ups,
  • Hazardous substance remedial design, and
  • Construction management for hazardous substances, asbestos and lead paint related issues.

Projects for this client have occurred in Delaware, Florida, Maine, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, and Texas, often with extreme deadlines. Some of these projects were generally above average in size and complexity, such as identifying asbestos-containing materials in 600,000 sq. ft of building space and developing abatement specifications in less than 10 days, then managing the abatement of the 7 miles of pipe insulation and 9 acres of floor tile to completion in less than two months from project inception. Duffield Associates also assessed outdoor soil and groundwater conditions on this 160-acre site and developed plans for tank, transformer and soil removals while the asbestos work was in progress. In another instance, demolition of an abandoned and crumbling manufacturing complex in Maine required identification of lead-based paint, asbestos-containing materials, hazardous wastes, underground storage tanks, impacted soils and PCB-containing items, followed by removal specifications, removal management and brownfields approval, within the time space of one and a half months in the middle of winter.

Duffield Associates was able to meet our clients' needs in each instance, typically within the context of other construction work, eliminating down-time and scheduling conflicts.
