Company Sustainable Initiatives

Cumberland Geotechnical Consultants (CGC) was founded in 1990 as a full service geotechnical consulting engineering firm. The firm operated an extensive soils, concrete and geosynthetics materials testing laboratory, and owned and operated their own drill rigs. From its inception, CGC became heavily involved in solid waste landfill engineering including design, permitting and construction quality assurance services, developing a reputation for quality service and innovative solutions to landfill construction issues, along with expertise in the applications of clay liners and geosynthetics in the solid waste industry.

In September, 2007, CGC joined Duffield Associates. In June, 2011, the name became Duffield Associates. The full range of Duffield Associates' services are now offered in the Carlisle office including Geotechnical, Ecological Services/Permitting, Environmental Services, Water Resources & Infrastructure, Solid Waste and Coastal/Waterfront Engineering.
